Forming our children in the Orthodox faith — helping the youngest members of Saint Elias come to know, love, and follow Christ within the life of His Church.
Our mission is to provide a warm and nurturing environment where children can learn about Jesus Christ and His teachings through the Orthodox faith.
We aim to teach them about God's love, traditions, and sacraments — helping them develop a personal relationship with Christ and grow in their spiritual journey.
Our vision is to raise a generation of children who are rooted in the Orthodox faith, inspired to live Christian values, and motivated to share God's love with others.
We envision a community where children feel valued, supported, and empowered to openly practice their faith and become confident followers of Christ.
Sunday Mornings
Two groups meet each Sunday, so every child is cared for in a setting made for them.
Newborn – 3 years old
Our nursery is available for children from birth through 3 years old, with parent supervision. This space provides a safe and welcoming environment for little ones, while allowing parents to remain close by.
11:00 AM · Ages 4 – 12
Children ages 4–12 are invited to join our Sunday School program. Through engaging lessons, activities, and discussions, kids learn about the Bible and the Orthodox faith in an age-appropriate and meaningful way.

You are your child's first and most important teacher in the faith, and Sunday School is here to support you — never to replace the life of prayer and worship at home. On a typical Sunday, bring your children to worship first; the fruit of Sunday School grows best in soil watered by the Liturgy. Class times and locations are shared each week, and our teachers are always glad to tell you what your children are learning so you can carry the conversation home.
Come as you are, and don't worry if your family is new to Orthodoxy or if your children are still learning to sit and stand along with everyone else — wiggles and questions are entirely at home here. If you have children with particular needs, simply let us know, and we will do our best to help every child feel welcome.
Our program depends on parishioners who are willing to share their faith with the next generation. You do not need to be a trained teacher — only a practicing Orthodox Christian with a love for children and a willingness to learn. Teachers and classroom aides serve on a rotation so that no one carries the whole year alone, and lesson materials and guidance are provided.
If you would like to help form our children in the faith, please see our volunteers page or speak with Fr. George or the Sunday School director. It is one of the most rewarding ways to serve the parish.
